The Digital Marketing group is under the umbrella of Focus Features mktg. The department is responsible for creating and maintaining an online presence for all theatrical releases across the internet, mobile devices and emerging platforms, and is often the arena in which movies are initially introduced to the marketplace. This includes the official websites, online banners and rich media, co-branded websites, digital content, and promotions. The team is also responsible for experiential activations, digital partnerships, influencer collaborations, and keeping the company apprised of new and trending content types.
The Director of Digital Marketing will oversee the creative executions for upcoming campaigns and the coordination and trafficking of material with creative vendors and throughout multiple divisions and departments. Exceptional communication skills both one-on-one and across all levels of management are crucial. Individuals must be able to handle multiple responsibilities, and to efficiently juggle a workload in the face of shifting priorities and deadlines. On a daily basis, the position requires someone that can take initiative with minimal direction, has the ability to seek out information from appropriate sources and has exceptional follow-through. Attention to detail is extremely important. Additionally, the Director will have the professionalism and public speaking experience needed to regularly present campaign work to our filmmakers.
Individuals in this job must possess solid computer, writing, and creative skills. Experience with producing websites, display and social media creative advertising units, custom interactive features, games and mobile extensions is also necessary. Familiarity with different programming formats – flash, HTML, CSS, unity, etc. – is desired and expertise in the specificities of each social platform and the type of content and audiences unique to each is key. Experience leading experiential activations (AR/VR lenses, pop up events, etc.) is preferred.
Familiarity with basic video post-production is extremely useful as you will be overseeing custom video production for web use.
The position reports to the Vice President, Digital Marketing.
Essential Responsibilities:

Manage all creative materials for theatrical campaigns. This person will be required to be knowledgeable on all theatrical and internet projects in production as relates to our mktg efforts

Develop website, social and digital creative ad strategy, select vendors and oversee interactive feature development

Lead ideation and production of experiential events and activations

Work with Digital Manager and Digital Coordinator to implement creative campaigns for assigned films
-
Review integrated and custom media programs and provide direction and creative assets for these initiatives

Oversee mobile websites and creative strategies for maximizing promotion and exposure on Android, iPhone, Tablet and other emerging devices

Work with other members of the Digital Marketing team in ensuring we’re all working towards a common goal and to bridge work-gaps in the department when necessary

Experience with public speaking and presenting campaign work to filmmakers, executives, and talent.

Make competent creative decisions; double-check all work for factual or grammatical errors

Be self-reliant and able to implement and manage tasks independently

Interact with vendors to handle budgets, track creative approvals, and to independently handle day-to-day requests

Manage updates on FocusFeatures.com with oversight of editorial content calendar
Basic Qualifications:
-
At least 6 years of experience in the entertainment industry, specifically in digital marketing
-
Demonstrated experience in project and people management
-
Demonstrated experience leading film digital marketing campaigns

Working knowledge of Microsoft-based software: Outlook, Word, Excel, and Powerpoint

Working knowledge of Photoshop

Desired Characteristics:

4 year college degree in marketing or related field is preferred but not required

Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week

Salary Range: $100,000-$120,000; bonus eligible, not long-term incentive eligible.
