The American Institute of Aeronautics
and Astronautics is seeking a dynamic Digital Marketing Specialist who will be
responsible for identifying
trends and new technologies that will improve the online and general experience
of AIAA members, other customers, and target audiences. This individual will
also develop an innovative strategy and define
direction for the tactical execution of deliverables through AIAA’s e-channels
(e.g. web, e-mail, social media, etc.) by combining strategic methods,
planning, and ongoing optimization to deliver impactful results. He or she will
inform and guide cross-functional teams to develop
solutions to meet brand challenges, enhance the AIAA member experience, and achieve marketing objectives
based on member insights, data analytics, and long-term business intelligence
trends; formulate and
execute SEM/SEO strategies across all AIAA digital properties; maintain and enhance the Institute’s forum microsites; administer
AIAA headquarters e-mail-marketing system to support the growth of AIAA’s
events, publications and membership programs; and identify emerging opportunities for promoting AIAA’s
products and services through online, mobile, new technology, and social and
lead ideation brainstorms with the Marketing, Design, Communications and IT
departments.
ACCOUNTABILITY:
Digital Strategy
-
Work with other
marketing staff to plan, analyze, recommend and implement successful multi-channel
marketing strategies and tactical programs to meet promotional
goals and influence audiences across AIAA’s web properties, e-communications and social media. -
Assist in the
creation of Institute-wide digital marketing and complementary social media plans,
in collaboration with the Social Media Content Specialist, that will bridge web, email, mobile,
social and traditional advertising.
- Create
and track online advertisements and promotions by developing and
implementing a tracking process for URLs and redirects for tracking print
collateral. - Assist
Membership and Sales with lead acquisitions and develop digital campaigns
to nurture and grow relationships in new ways to expand and target digital
reach.
Web/Digital Marketing
Development and Maintenance

Develop and maintain webpages
-
Work with multiple teams in diverse core
capabilities (i.e., Design, Communications, IT, etc.) to assist with project
management and implementation of
web development needs. -
In tandem with Marketing and
Communications, help establish content cadence for appropriate message
distribution/engagement touchpoints including Web, email, mobile, and social
media.
- Ensure
consistency with AIAA branding standards and style guide for five forum websites
and promotional emails. - Optimize
Web content and landing pages for SEO, usability, engagement and various
goals for forum/events websites and webpages. - Coordinate
forum and event content updates across marketing, content development, and
events departments. - Incorporate
and develop new functionalities to attract users back to the forum
websites (e.g. polls, countdowns, contests, dynamic graphics, videos, etc.) - Post
the articles/videos/presentations, etc. to the websites before during and
following the forums. - Assist
the Web Editor with updates and design improvements to AIAA website and
other communications channels to improve marketing functionalities.
Email Marketing
- Design
HTML emails that are graphically appealing and format email templates for
promotions. - Working
with AIAA editors, review/edit for consistent voice/messaging, coordinate,
send and track all promotional emails. - Accountable
for the final formatting, copy review, ease-of-interaction,
call-for-action/subject-line, and hyperlink checking for emails. - Manage
the Informz/email vendor, budget and the email schedule.
Reporting and
Analysis
- Identify and provide web reports that help monitor key
performance indicators, benchmarks and reporting structures for marketing initiatives
and campaigns for ongoing data analysis, insights and refinements
from a marketing/strategic outreach/sales perspective.

Produce
regular reports from Google Analytics and AdWords for promotional efforts.
- Produce
regular Web traffic reports from Google Analytics, and identify
opportunities to benchmark and increase page traffic, unique views, and
other key metrics.
POSITION DIMENSIONS:

Produce all work consistent with AIAA branding and style
guide. -
Ensure projects achieve the desired results and are
completed in a timely manner and within budget. -
Work with multiple teams in diverse core capabilities (i.e.
Design, Communications, IT, etc.) to assist with project management. -
Minimal travel required.
