Description
The Digital Marketing Specialist is responsible for supporting the execution of the university's web and digital marketing strategy. In this role, they will develop and manage all email communications for University Communications and Marketing, while also providing support for the email communication needs of other departments and units. Additionally, the Digital Marketing Specialist will assist leadership in tracking the effectiveness of email communications and other marketing efforts by providing regular analytics reports.
This position will also support marketing campaigns across various channels and assist in content updates and efforts to optimize conversion rates. Furthermore, the Digital Marketing Specialist will play a vital role in documenting campaigns and processes, conducting A/B testing, and deploying and scaling marketing automation capabilities.
It's essential to note that this role requires the ability and comfort to be the primary point of contact for handling emails and emergency website updates. This includes unscheduled developments that require immediate attention, such as severe weather alerts or announcements related to community members. As such, the Digital Marketing Specialist should be willing and available to work outside of standard hours. Proficiency with EMMA email marketing platform or an equivalent platform is required.
•Bachelor's Degree in marketing or a related field
•Two years of digital marketing, email management or web experience
•Solid working knowledge of industry standard software and applications including email marketing and web content management systems.
•Proficiency with EMMA email marketing platform or equivalent.
•Working knowledge of web analytics tools, experience with Google Analytics (UA) and GA4.
•Working knowledge of general SEO best practices.
•Previous experience with A/B testing.
•Knowledge of basic HTML/CSS and web publishing.
•Familiarity with digital accessibility guidelines.
•Ability to learn new technologies, techniques, and solve problems quickly and completely.
•Strong computer skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and the ability to learn software programs with ease.
•Ability to handle numerous assignments in a timely manner and to adjust for unscheduled developments requiring immediate attention.
•Ability and willingness to work on weekends and evenings, as required or requested.
