SUMMARY:
The Digital Marketing Specialist is responsible for creating and promoting content for all major digital channels, including but not limited to campaigns, content marketing, and brand management. In addition, this person helps drive HFCU's brand by coordinating marketing and communications plans and programs, while providing external and internal communications support.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist with the overall development and implementation of the marketing plan for the credit union. Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing marketing campaigns.
Coordinate and implement social media marketing projects with timely and relevant messages that support financial education, communications, community relations, membership, and marketing. Additional responsibilities include daily monitoring, responding to messages, posting, and content development. As well as work with "expert" content contributors.
Remain aware and up to date on social media marketing trends and apply knowledge to leverage social media activities effectively.
Ensure appropriate compliance to regulations and make policy recommendations regarding use of social media and digital channels.
Responsible for creation and execution of e-Newsletters, email marketing, and other digital communications. Create and deploy individual emails and multi-step email campaigns in support of overarching marketing efforts, enlisting best-practices for optimizing deliverability, open rates, and click-through-rates.
Work with digital marketing vendors to maximize reputation management and online advertising for membership growth and retention. Establish and report metrics on digital marketing efforts and success rates. Track, identify and analyze trends.
Maintain HFCU's website content to ensure timely and accurate information that also promotes products/services. Optimize HFCU's website through copywriting and keyword tagging that enhances search engine optimization and search engine marketing efforts. Work with eCommerce team to create retargeted marketing optimization on website.
Support HFCU's marketing and communications operations by creating video and photography content. Distribute content to internal and external stakeholders.
Assist with planning and coordinating annual and special events or seminars as requested.
Perform miscellaneous requests, respond to email, and phone inquiries, file, fax and mail information. Assist other credit union departments and staff as needed.
Attend training sessions (CUPATs) and complete required training in a timely manner. Attend and participate in other group or company meetings as required.
Maintain a clean and well-organized work area as well and contribute to the overall cleanliness of the HFCU properties.
JOB COMPETENCIES/REQUIREMENTS:
- Excellent organizational, communication and business writing skills to exhibit professionalism and deal effectively with internal and external contacts.
- Good design and copywriting skills to effectively promote the Credit Union's products/services and brand image.
- Above average experience working with Microsoft Office products, Adobe suite, and website CMS are preferred.
- Conscientious, comfortable with detail, and the ability to be multi-tasked to coordinate and prioritize the workday efficiently. Comfortable working under pressure, self motivated and able to work in a team environment.
- Ability to understand and monitor compliance functions and responsibilities assigned within a credit union and the ability to stay current in the changing environment of compliance as it relates to credit union marketing materials.
- Ability to work cooperatively with others to identify, recommend and implement opportunities for increased efficiency.
EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree marketing, graphic design, business, or equivalent experience. Experience within a financial institution a plus.
Ability to manage various online marketing platforms creatively and proficiently, such as websites, social media, blogs, email, newsletters, and digital advertising.
Proficiency with social media tools, platforms, techniques, and philosophies required. Professional experience and engagement with social networks (i.e. - LinkedIn, Facebook, and YouTube) for B2C interaction a plus.
Advanced knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop and other Adobe design software programs required.
Excellent writing and verbal communication skills. Excellent phone skills/etiquette and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in writing and over the phone.
Excellent computer knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Products required.
Comfortable public speaking and presentation skills and ability to work with members in face to face, as well as written interactions.
WORKING CONDITIONS/ENVIRONMENT:
This position requires sitting for long periods of time and working primarily at a workstation or desk in an open office environment. Daily tasks include extensive use of a computer performing standard keyboard functions, requiring repeated motion, as well as extensive use of the phone. Stretching breaks are recommended to avoid injury.
