ABOUT THE POSITION

The Digital Marketing Coordinator is a creative, driven, and passionate individual who conceives, pitches, executes, and reports on digital marketing campaigns that build awareness and drive ticket sales and promotion of Armory programming and events. This person is flexible, detail-oriented, and able to juggle multiple projects simultaneously to keep up with the fast-paced environment of a large-scale live event-based arts institution. This role will primarily focus on strengthening the Armory’s social media presence and engagement but will also assist with creating content and building campaigns for direct response efforts, performing routine website updates, and other digital marketing initiatives as assigned.The Digital Marketing Coordinator reports to the Associate Director of Digital Marketing, takes direction from the Chief Marketing Officer, and works collaboratively with a larger team of staff across the organization.

Due to the nature of this role and interaction with staff across the organization, this is a fully on-site role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop, pitch, execute, and report on digital marketing campaigns that drive engagement and expand the reach of the Armory’s digital presence.
  • Manage social media content calendar across multiple platforms including Facebook, Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), YouTube, and others.
  • Create relevant and engaging social media content and write grammatically and factually accurate copy for all social media platforms.
  • Oversee community engagement and monitoring by responding to comments when necessary, reposting/sharing artist and audience content, directing feedback to appropriate internal teams, and reporting content that is against community guidelines.
  • Research emerging social platforms and new features as they become available to engage new and retain existing audiences.
  • Keep informed of current social media trends, responding to and engaging with relevant trending posts while maintaining the Armory’s brand identity.
  • Create and deploy email communications for the organization, using best practices in email communication strategy and compliance.
  • Manage the email marketing calendar, fielding communication requests from all relevant departments.
  • Coordinate special offers and promotions across email communications and social media channels with third-party partners and peer organizations.
  • Collaborate with all departments and to create and oversee distribution of digital content for Armory programs, events, and institutional initiatives.
  • Assist with creating, editing, and deploying website content as necessary and ensure all information is accurate and up to date.
  • Perform other marketing, communications, and administrative responsibilities as needed and assigned.

  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, proactively manage multiple projects and priorities with concurrent and changing deadlines, and work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Proven track record of creating highly engaging and polished short-form content that demonstrates a refined sense of storytelling in a concise and impactful manner that is optimized for social media.
  • Developed eye for catchy and interesting content that can elevate social traffic and overall community engagement.
  • Marketing software (Active Campaign/Prospect2, Wordfly, Mailchimp, etc.) and social media platforms and social listening tools (Sprout Social, Hootsuite, etc.) experience required.
  • Strong proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop and Premiere Pro; other video editing programs; Tessitura or other CRM database experience a plus.
  • This position requires on-site presence 5 days a week.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • 3+ years of experience in reviewing, scheduling, or publishing social content for a brand, influencer, or digital publisher, or the equivalent combination of education, training, and transferable experience to successfully perform essential functions of the job.
  • Bachelor’s degree in the humanities, journalism, or marketing/communications preferred, but experience is the most important qualification.

COMPENSATION

Compensation is $50,000 - $60,000 annually, commensurate with experience. This is an exempt position.
