SUMMARY: Utilizes a knowledge of marketing and a mastery of digital technology (i. e. web, internet, social media, mobile, etc. ) to plan, direct and control the activities of associates responsible for the development and/or execution of a wide variety of projects across assigned marketing customer groups or product lines. Develops and/or applies highly advanced principles and best practices. Leads the development and execution of digital strategies and plans that support long term sustainable growth of the business. Plans effective development and/or execution of long range and complex digital marketing projects. Projects or forecasts future needs in the digital space. Synthesizes data and intuition in areas assigned and leverages this understanding to identify and innovates digital solutions. Provides thought leadership and direction relative to assigned digital area or customer group. Manages budgets and internal and external resources to develop and deliver digital marketing plans on time and on budget.

Job Description

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: Reports AVP or VP. 3 or more direct reports. May also be responsible for matrix reporting relationships and virtual teams.

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic Connection: Leads and coaches others in the development and execution of digital strategies and plans that ensure long term sustainable growth of the business. Interprets and synthesizes data using intuition in the digital space and leverages this understanding to identify, innovate and execute digital solutions.

Insights and Analytics: For a wide array of digital projects, partners with Marketing partners and Analytics team to utilize data and information to forecast usage, competitor and customer behavior, understand target audiences, and effectively drive results.

Branding: Leads, directs and coaches others regarding the use of digital applications of branding within area of responsibility. Ensures consistency of the digital brand experience for all customers.

Solution Development: Identifies problems and innovates digital solutions to reach assigned customer group through digital media options. Develops, executes and directs local and national campaign strategies including marketing communication plans (i.e. advertising, promotions, DM, media, sponsorship, online display, search, email, mobile, social etc) and creative. Directs internal and external creative resources, agency relationships and tactical experts in the timely development, execution and integration of campaigns.

Partners with other Marketing disciplines to develop and plan B2B & B2C marketing and campaign strategies and initiatives to meet business objectives. Manages client demand, prioritization and workflow to ensure team is focused on highest priority work.

Direct associate management including: performance management, salary planning and administration, training andPerforms other duties as assigned.

TYPICAL SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Education: Undergraduate degree in Marketing, Communication, Advertising or related field preferred. Masters degree is desirable.

Experience: Typically 10 or more years of related experience in marketing, advertising, sponsorship's, campaigns, media or brand management Primary job function must have been management of at least one of these related functions. Agency experience preferred.

Knowledge: Combined in depth knowledge of marketing principles and methodologies including deep understanding of marketing through digital sources. Prefer in-depth knowledge of assigned role.

Skills/Competencies: Well demonstrated creative judgment and familiarity developing advertising campaigns, marketing communications, sponsorship's or brand initiatives. An ability to think both creatively and strategically. The ability to effectively direct multiple projects simultaneously, perform under pressure and pay close attention to detail while staying focused on the big picture. Ability to manage productive agency partnerships. Excellent organizational, interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills within the leadership role and one who is accountable for the projects, initiatives and campaigns they direct. Insurance and/or financial services product knowledge a plus. Ability to train, lead and coach others in all aspects of digital marketing.
